I am currently accepting new clients and offer individual, couple’s, and family counseling to adolescents and adults. My primary specialties are anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. I have further training in LGBTQIA concerns; my practice is inclusive of everyone regardless of sexual orientation, romantic preference, and gender identity/expression. I am happy to assist those who are considering or are in the process of transitioning. Additionally, I enjoy working with those who are involved in non-traditional relationships.
I am trained in several modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). All of these technical terms and abbreviations may sound intimidating, but ultimately, they all boil down to different ways of thinking about and coping with different types of emotional struggles. Since no two people are alike, no two interventions will have the same efficacy, so I prefer to let clients’ goals and preferences set the agenda for sessions and tailor my therapeutic strategies accordingly. I am always open to feedback as far as what is or isn’t working and strongly feel that therapy must be collaborative in order to be effective and successful.
I am in-network with Cigna, Medcost, Aetna, Humana, and most BCBS plans.* If you are covered by a different insurer, I am able to generate a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your policy. I am also able to bill as an out-of-network provider, but am unable to guarantee reimbursement.
*A note for those who have BCBS Blue Value plans:
Unfortunately, I am not in-network with Blue Value. I have requested to be paneled multiple times; however, I was told the panel was full each time. I would recommend reaching out to BCBS directly or using the search engine on BCBS’ website to find an in-network provider.
I can, however, provide some assistance with costs.
I am able to offer sliding-scale therapy on a limited basis to those who are uninsured.
If you have insurance and are concerned about whether your policy will pay for mental health services, please reach out so that I can look into your benefits and see what will be covered. While my ability to reduce or waive fees is limited due to my contracts with insurance companies, I am able to offer payment plans and am open to alternative solutions. I strongly feel that everyone should have access to quality mental health care, and don’t want cost to be a barrier.
